CHILDREN AND TV: ENTRIES FOR THE SIGNIS EUROPA-UNICEF AWARD TO BEST TV PROGRAMS OPEN NOW

” “An invitation to European radio stations, TV stations and producers to enter the Signis Unicef Award for children’s rights is being sent these days by the European section of Signis (the International Catholic Communication Association) and Unicef Romania. The prize, which rewards the efforts made by radio and TV stations to provide high-quality children’s programs and better coverage of news about children’s issues, will be given at the Children’s Festival called “Facing children” due in Bucharest from November 15th to 20th. Prizes will be awarded to Best documentary, Best research, Best movie; programs may include documentaries illustrating children’s conditions or helping shattering stereotypes and fighting discrimination. They must have been produced in European countries between January 2004 and June 2006, must last no more than 90 minutes and must be sent to the organisers of the contest by August 25th 2006 in the max amount of three per producer. The ten best ones, selected by a pre-selection panel, will be announced on October 1st and judged during the “Facing children” Festival.
