BENEDICT XVI: TO THE CROATIAN BISHOPS, A CONTRIBUTION FOR THE COMMON GOOD (2)

The Bishops are responsible for showing to the devotees, also through the example of the great Croatian figures, such as the "blessed Alojzije Stepinac, bishop and martyr", "what the Gospel teaches, warning them against what opposes to it, so that your communities will boost the entire society in pursuing the common good and taking care of the needy". In Croatia, "many people, despite their hard work, live in precarious conditions" because the "country unfortunately is still affected by the consequences of the recent war".
