EUROPE: EU PARLIAMENT MEETS EXILED IRANIAN ORGANISATIONS (2)

"By now we have given up on any form of violence and condemn terrorism", stated – urged by the press – the president of Ncri, Maryam Rajavi. "We have plans for the reconstruction of a free, democratic and lay country. We ask the international community to support our efforts for the good of the Iranian people". The resistance leader invites the West "to act quickly. Teheran keeps postponing the negotiations with the EU delegate, Javier Solana. But in the meantime it goes on with the tests and it soon will have the atomic bomb". "We have had strong pressures to organise this meeting with president Rajavi – explains Struan Stevenson, British EU MP -. The Iranian government had threatened to stop the negotiations with the EU about nuclear power. But we must not give in to such blackmail". Rajavi concludes: "The solution for our country is not a war anyway, since it would only kill innocent people. A complaisant policy would not be a solution either. The only way, I insist, is going back to democracy and freedom, which can guarantee a future of peace and development for our country".
