"Come, Holy Spirit; heal and bring reconciliation to Europe … Enlighten all men with the light of Christ": this is the subject of the consultation on the mission across Europe that the Conference of the European Churches (Cec/Kek, a network of 125 Orthodox, Protestant, Anglican and Old Catholic Churches from all European countries, plus 40 associated organisations) has convened, starting today in Budapest (Hungary). Approximately 60 participants from over 20 countries will take part in the meeting (until 28th January) on behalf of Churches, national councils for the mission, ecumenical networks. "An important opportunity for the representatives of the Churches across Europe to reflect on how to improve the preaching of Jesus’ Gospel before a rising secularisation", explains the secretary general of Cec/Kek, Collin Williams. A date that will be dotted with reports, workshops, the study of the Bible and prayers, to explore the subjects of the Conference for mission and evangelisation in the world that was held in Athens in 2005.
