In his greetings after the Angelus prayer, yesterday morning the Pope spoke in Slovakian, in particular to the "students of the Grammar school of Saints Cyril and Methodius from Nitra", whom he invited to follow "the school of the Virgin of Nazareth, to learn from Her to love God and their neighbours", as "the Marian month of October" starts today. In greeting the Polish pilgrims, Benedict XVI recalled that the servant of God Maria Luisa Merkert of the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Elizabeth took place in Nysa, in the diocese of Opole, yesterday. "She he said stood out for her care of the sick, the poor and the deserted people. Let the proof of Maria Luisa’s life be for us an encouragement to see Christ’s face in the needy ones". In his greetings in Italian, he also mentioned the participants in the Congress organised by the Children’s Hospital Bambino Gesù, the "Panathlon International". Finally he gave a "friendly goodbye" to the community of Castel Gandolfo: "In a few days he stated I will go back to the Vatican", but "we stay close in prayer".
