The Russian agency Interfax, quoting the bishop of Vienna and Austria, the envoy of the Russian Church to Europe and a member of the Hilarion committee, writes that, "upon arriving in Ravenna, the Orthodox delegation learnt that the delegates of the so-called Estonian Apostolic Church, erected by the Patriarchate of Constantinople in the canonical territory of the Patriarchate of Moscow, had been included in the list of delegates. The Patriarchate of Moscow does not recognise the Estonian Apostolic Church as an independent canonical body and warned that, either its delegates went away from the meeting or the delegates of the Russian Church would go away themselves". Which happened, after a failed mediation attempt by archbishop Ioann (of the Patriarchate of Constantinople). "We hope such inter-Orthodox problems will not impair the official dialogue between Orthodoxy and the Catholic Church and that they will be solved soon", is the comment of the director of the Vatican Radio Station and the Newsroom of the Holy See, father Federico Lombardi.
