FATIMA: FROM TODAY, WITH CARD.BERTONE, THE FINAL CELEBRATIONS FOR THE 90TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE APPARITIONS

This afternoon, the Vatican secretary of state, cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, will officiate in Fatima the rite of dedication of the new Church of the Most Holy Trinity (at 5 pm) and Mass for the participants in the international pilgrimage. Card. Bertone, in his capacity as the Apostolic Legate at the solemn celebrations for the end of the 90th anniversary of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin, in the afternoon of Saturday 13th October, among other things, will bless the Newsroom of the Church and will chair a meeting along with cardinal José Saraiva Martins, prefect of the Congregation of the Causes of the Saints, the bishop of Leiria-Fátima, mgr. António Marto, and the rector of the Sanctuary, mgr. Luciano Guerra. During the meeting, cardinal Bertone will illustrate the Portuguese edition of his book, that he wrote with the Vatican correspondent Giuseppe De Carli, "The last prophetess of Fatima: my conversations with Sister Lucia", with a foreword by Benedict XVI. On Sunday 14th, the final Mass in the Church of the Most Holy Trinity and the Angelus prayer, live from Saint Peter’s Square, during which the Pope will send a special greeting to the pilgrims gathered in Fatima.
