BENEDICT XVI: GENERAL AUDIENCE, "BEHAVING LIKE GOOD CHRISTIANS AND HONEST CITIZENS"

Christian devotees are called to carry out, with faith, their duties as citizens, working to fill society with the spirit of the Gospel, trying to implement that vital relationship between citizens of the city of man and citizens of the city of God. This sums up what was said today by Benedict XVI during the general audience devoted to the figure of Saint Maximus, bishop of Turin (IV century AD) who in his sermons insisted on the Christians’ responsibility for promoting a right social order based on solidarity with the poor.
