This is one of the subjects addressed by the cardinals who spoke today at the meeting between the Pope and the members of the Cardinals’ College on the occasion of the Consistory, due to take place tomorrow. Walter Kasper, president of the Papal Council for the Unity of the Christians, that "outlined the current scenario of ecumenical dialogue and relations". In particular, "the social lesson of the Church and its implementation have been singled out as one of the most promising areas for ecumenism", but they also spoke of commitment to continuing the "purging of the memory" and using "forms of communication that will not hurt the sensitivity of the other Christians". As well as suggesting "to find more about the potential ecumenical developments", the cardinals mentioned "some very significant events", such as the Ecumenical Assembly of Sibiu, the ecumenical and inter-religious meeting of Naples, the journey of the patriarch of Moscow Alexius II to Paris, the great ecumenical meetings of the ecclesial movements in Stuttgart.
