150 young people of Azione cattolica (Ac) from 28 countries across the world will take part in the worldwide youth pilgrimage of Ac to the Holy Land, from 28th December 2007 to 6th January 2008. "We’ll go to Jerusalem reads the presentation of the International Forum of Azione cattolica (Fiac) that promoted such pilgrimage to invoke peace, be the witnesses of our willingness to commit, reassert the wish for dialogue and fraternity, and learn from the young people who live in the Holy Land today about the Church and the political and social situation of Israel and Palestine". The purposes of the pilgrimage include to "open twinships with the ACs of the Holy Land and give continuity to pilgrimages and relations between the different ACs of the world". The schedule includes a pilgrimage leaving Rome on 28th December and a number of meetings with the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Michel Sabbah, and the Custodian to the Holy Land, father Pierbattista Pizzaballa, visits to the main holy places and the attendance of the World Peace Day on 1st January. The plan also includes meetings with young people from Bethlehem, Jerusalem and Nazareth and the local Christian communities. The pilgrimage will end on 6th January in Saint Peter’s Square with the celebration of Epiphany with Benedict XVI.
