” “The ability to listen in situations of conflict, commitment and attention "for an equal sharing of the assets of the Earth", solidarity with the poor and the ability to "forgive". These are the topics that this year will be on the agenda of the European Youth Meeting, promoted by the ecumenical community of Taizè in Geneva from 28th December to 1st January 2008. 40 thousand youth are expected to go, including 30 thousand from all over Europe. On arriving, they will be given a letter written by frère Alois in Bolivia during a meeting with the Latin American youth. The letter ends with 4 questions about listening and forgiving, which will be the subject of the exchanges that will take place in the morning at the 160 reception points and in the afternoon during the 25 meetings of reflection at the Palexpo. The meeting state the frères who are in the organisation has been prepared in conjunction with the Catholic and Protestant Churches of Swiss, and the youth will be hosted by thousands of families from Bellegarde at Yverdon-les-Bains and from Geneva in Montreux. Another two texts by frère Alois will be published on the occasion of the European meeting, translated into 26 languages and given to each participant. One of them is an appeal to the reconciliation of Christians. "In Christ we belong to each other. When Christians are divided, the message of the Gospel becomes imperceptible". ” “
