After the Angelus recitation, during the salutation in various languages, Benedict XVI manifested a hope in French: "May every sick find the spiritual support of his brothers, the support he needs to tackle the time of the challenge and to look at God with hope, with the certainty that all his life, and in particular, the lives of the sick, are in His hands". In English, he sent particular greetings to the music directors coming from the United States, representing the National Association of Pastoral Musicians. In Polish, he made an invitation to invoke Mary, as "Health of the Sick", with the aim of "managing to always see the very face of suffering Christ in all the sick". In Italian, among the pilgrims, he mentioned the young from Altamura and the faithful coming from Verona, Grottammare and Alberoro.
