HOLY SEE: MGR. COCCOPALMERIO (MILAN), PRESIDENT OF THE PAPAL COUNCIL FOR LAW MAKING

Today, mgr. Francesco Coccopalmerio, auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Milan, has been appointed by the Pope new president of the Papal Council for Law Making; he succeeds card. Julian Herranz Casado, who resigned his post having reached the retirement age (as laid down by can. 354 of the Code of Canon Law). Still today, Benedict XVI appointed deputy president of the same ministry mgr. Bruno Bertagna, general auditor of the Apostolic Board; as from today, the secretary of such ministry, also appointed by the Pope, will be mgr. Juan Ignacio Arrieta Ochoa de Chinchetru, from the Prelacy of Opus Dei (to be continued).
