” “The true wealth of Europe "are people: we must look forward to a new Humanism that will place man back at the centre". This was recalled in Rome today by Sister Enrica Rosanna, Undersecretary of the Congregation for the Institutes of Consecrated Life and the Societies of Apostolic Life, at the Comece Congress for the 50th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome. In her speech, Sister Rosanna extolled "the treasure of holiness in which Europe is rich", "the secret of the past as well as the hope of the future", mentioning Saint Bridget of Sweden, Saint Catherine of Siena and Saint Theresa Benedict of the Cross. "These three women, with their life and their work", she added, "point at the great challenge for building a really united Europe", a challenge of evangelisation, to be welcomed through "the dynamism of the three theological virtues". "We, Christians of Europe she specified , are called to have a faith that may enable us to have a critical confrontation with the current culture" and "to build a Christian culture that is able to evangelise". "This is not about repeating the forms of Christianity of the past", she concluded, "but rather letting ourselves be stimulated by the dynamism of a faith that breathes trust in hope and becomes operational in love-charity". ” “
