” “The regional Rom festival "Art Against Prejudices" is taking place from 5 to 7 April in Tirana, by initiative of the European Commission and the Council of Europe. The meeting is within the event framework promoted for the Rom International Day, celebrated next 8 April. The Festival will propose artists from South Eastern Europe such as Muharem Serbezovski, "Silvi Duo Band", Muharem Tahiri and Hamza Tahirov. At the same time, exhibitions of sculptures, photos, paintings and craftworks belonging to the Rom culture will be set up at the Culture International Centre in the Albanian capital. There will also be round-table discussions on the role of art and culture in the Rom integration path, and about the contribution which such culture is giving Europe. Rom people are estimated to be about ten million in Europe. In a few countries of Central and Eastern Europe, they are 5% of the population.” “
