” “Women live longer than men in all European states, and this figure will be the same even in 2050. The "life expectancy" will grow for men and women, with the highest figure in France, where in 2050 women will live up to about 90 years of age. Eurostat, the EU Statistics Office, published a survey today about women’s conditions within the EU, in the run-up to 8th March, which is World Women’s Day. Eurostat’s survey focuses on different areas: demographics, education, employment, computer skills. The first figure found by the experts is that nowadays the average life expectancy is about 6 years longer for women than for men: "The greatest gender difference can be found in Lithuania and Latvia (12 years), the smallest in Malta, in the United Kingdom, in the Netherlands and in Sweden (4 years)". Some statistics refer to 2005, others to 2006, and others to the current year: "In 2005, women’s life expectancy ranged between 75.4 in Romania and 83.9 in Spain". It has been estimated that "in 2050, it should exceed 80 years of age in all member states, with 82 in Romania and 89.1 in France". (to be continued)” “
