BENEDICT XVI AT REGINA CAELI: "NOT TO BE AFRAID TO BE THE MESSENGERS OF RESURRECTION" (2)

This is, added Benedict XVI, "the message Christians are called to spread as far as the outer limits of the world. The Christian faith is born not of receiving a doctrine, but of encountering Someone, Christ Dead and Resurrected". "In our daily life, dear friends, many are the opportunities to tell others about this faith of ours in a simple and persuasive way", explained the Pope, who then highlighted the urgent need that "the men and women of our time will get to know and encounter Jesus and, not least through our example, will let themselves be conquered by Him". Then a thought for Jesus’ Mother: "The Gospel says nothing about Mary, but the Christian tradition loves to contemplate her as she rejoices more than anyone else in being reunited with her divine Son, who she had held to herself when He had been put down from the Cross". Now, "after the Resurrection, the Redeemer’s Mother rejoices with Jesus’ ‘friends’, who form the rising Church". Finally, the invocation to the Virgin, "the Regina Caeli, that she may keep faith in the Resurrection alive in all of us and make us the messengers of the hope and love of Christ Resurrected".
