"I exhort you all to keep your life always well fixed to the rock of the indefectible Word of God, being its faithful heralds for the men of our times". It was the invitation made by the Pope to the believers of the dioceses of Basilicata, gathering in St. Peter’s Square during the "ad limina" visits of their bishops. At the end of today’s general audience, on greeting Italian-speaking pilgrims, still addressing the believers from Basilicata, Benedict XVI added: "Be the Easter holidays which we solemnly celebrated a stimulus to cling more and more to the missions of your respective Christian communities". Furthermore, the Pope greeted the young and the "numerous adolescents" coming from the diocese of Milan in a special way. "Dear young friends the Pope told them, the risen Christ repeats you the same words he said to the first disciples: ‘In the same way as Father sent me, I also send you … Receive the Holy Spirit’. Answer him with joy and love. Be grateful for the immense gift of faith, and you will witness his joy and peace in an authentic way, everywhere". Today’s general audience concluded with the saying of Pater Noster in Latin, and with the apostolic blessing, after which the Pope went back to Castelgandolfo, where he would stay until Saturday.
