Two days dedicated to environment protection and promotion of renewable energy sources. They were proposed by the European Parliament during the awarding of the Energy Globe Award 2007. "The prizes it is said in a note by the assembly of the European Union are meant for projects coming from all over the world, divided in five categories: earth, fire, water, air and youth. The objective of the event is making known the best solutions to the current energy and climate challenges to the general public". The competing projects "must be based on the careful and sparing exploitation of resources, as well as the sustainable use of energy sources". In the afternoon, a round table on the subject "Climatise Yourope" is scheduled; this evening, in the hemicycle in Brussels, there will be the prize awarding ceremony; tomorrow, there will be a second round table. The prize awarding ceremony will be opened by the president of the European Parliament, Hans-Gert Poettering, and by a report by Franz Fischler, former EU commissioner and current president of the Eco Social Forum. The prizes will be awarded to the winning experts by an actor, Martin Sheen, by UNO goodwill ambassador Waris Dirie, by the former Indian minister of environment Maneka Gandhi, and by Robin Gibb, musician from the Bee Gees.
