” “Within the initiatives of the current chair of the EU Council, the German Government is offering several cultural and political events in the next few days. The highlights, in chronological order, are a number of conferences on "Equal opportunities and social participation for young people", from today to April 16th in Cologne. On April 16th and 17th, Stuttgart will play host to a Conference on small businesses, while on April 17th and 18th Berlin will host the Demographic congress on "A new horizon. Promoting the economic potentials of the elderly". On April 20th and 21st, in Berlin, the Conference on energy efficiency. "On that occasion – explains a note from the chair –, ministers from the EU countries, the G8 countries and the main emerging countries will discuss strategies and objectives with international experts, with a view to improving energy efficiency". From April 23rd to 26th, the chair will attend the plenary meeting of the European Parliament in Strasbourg; on April 26th and 27th, Magdeburg will host the fifth congress of social economy about "Managing Europe socially".
