BENEDICT XVI: UNDERTAKING "THE PATH OF TRUTH RESOLUTELY" (2)

"It is not an essential difference. It is just a degree difference, – pointed out the Pope. – The first ones are the believers who live faith in a common way. However, their faith is still open to holiness horizons. The other ones are those who are already living a life of spiritual perfection". In any case, the Christian, "starting from the basis of common faith, through a research journey led by Christ himself, may and is supposed to reach the knowledge of the truths making up the contents of faith": in this way, the “perfect gnostic” reaches contemplation, which is "the highest form of God’s knowledge".
