One thought the “God question” was definitely cancelled from the histories of societies. However, "the idea of God" has become a "question of great importance" again for a few years. The conference which the St. Louis Cultural Centre in France will dedicate to the subject "The God Question in Contemporary French Culture" starts from that observation. Philosopher Philippe Capelle will take part in the conference on Monday 23 April (at 6 pm, at 22, Largo Toniolo, Rome). "One thought the ‘God question’ was definitely cancelled from the histories of societies and Western metaphysics stated the promoters, – definitely swept away by the violent attacks by the “masters of suspect” (Nietzsche, Marx and Freud), who were the keenest protagonists, declared Paul Ricoeur. However, the idea of God has been in the front row again for a few years, in relation to both the productions of media and the theatre of international political and religious oppositions. However, it has been in the limelight again, above all, because it is a matter of great importance, involving the primary questions of man and his acts". As for occasions of confrontation with philosophy, the contemporary French culture witnesses an evolution, about which Philippe Capelle will talk about. Capelle is honorary dean and director of Doctoral Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Catholic Institute in Paris.
