"Keeping marriage and the path that leads to marriage, in chastity and responsibility, in great esteem", as well as "being open also to the call to priesthood for the Kingdom of God". These are the words of advice given by the Pope to the young during his recent apostolic journey to Brazil, which was the focus of today’s audience. According to the Pontiff, the young "are not only a hope for the future but also a vital force for the present of the Church and society". To the "rich young man", recalled the Pope, "Jesus pointed out, firstly, the Commandments, such as the way of life, and then he urged him to leave everything and follow Him. Even today, the Church does the same thing: firstly, it offers the Commandments, the true walk of the education of freedom to personal and social good; and above all it offers the first Commandment, that of love, because without love not even the Commandments can give a full meaning to life or give true happiness". "Only those who find God’s love in Jesus and set out on this way to practise it become His disciples and missionaries", warned the Pontiff, who in Brazil urged the young "to be the apostles of their peers, to always take care of their human and spiritual education", in other words "to make use of the great "wealth" of youth, so as to be the young face of the Church".
