After saying the Regina Caeli, the Pope, in greeting the French-speaking pilgrims, repeated his wish that the Spirit of Pentecost "may generate new peace operators". In Polish, he greeted the members of the Movement of the Nazareth Families. "On the Feast of Pentecost he said let’s recall the beginnings of the Church, let’s be thankful for its development and let’s ask for abundant gifts for all believers. May the light of the Spirit light up the ways of holiness and may its power change the face of the earth". Then, in German, he thanked the German and Austrian bands that had marched on parade o celebrate the 80th birthday of the Holy Father. Finally in Italian a special thought for those who suffer from serious diseases: "On such a day, which the Italian authorities have specially devoted to the ‘relief of sufferings’ for seriously ill people, I ensure my prayer for the patients and all those who work hard to ensure they receive appropriate care as well as hope and support".
