In commenting yesterday’s reading passages, the Pope, with reference to the Books of Proverbs, recalled that "here comes Wisdom which is on God’s side as His assistant, as an ‘architect’" and "magnificent" is the "’view’ of the cosmos as looked at with its eyes". "God’s Wisdom explained Benedict XVI is shown in the cosmos, in the variety and beauty of its parts, but its masterpieces are the saints". Actually, "it is amidst humans" that Wisdom "loves to stay, because in them it recognises the image and resemblance of the Maker". "The Gospel too he added suggested to us that God the Father continues to show His design of love through the saints. What we had already noticed about Wisdom happens again: the Spirit of truth reveals God’s design in the multiplicity of the parts of the cosmos, and it does it mostly through humans, especially through the saints". "God’s image" is actually "Jesus Christ only": "He is Wisdom incarnate, the Maker Logos that finds its joy in dwelling amongst the children of man". Every single Saint "partakes of Christ’s richness, taken up by the Father and communicated in due time. Again, it Jesus’ holiness, it is Him again, the ‘Saint’ that the Spirit moulds into the ‘holy soul’s, into Jesus’ friends and the witnesses of His holiness". (continued)
