The young disabled who are planning their participation in the next World Youth Day in Sidney (15-20 July 2008) are about two thousand, until now. That’s what we can read in the "e-pilgrimage" number of September, just published. It is the newsletter by the committee setting up the Australian WYD. A special assistance is scheduled for the young disabled, as already happened in other World Youth Days. For this reason, the organization is operating in collaboration with two European entities, Italian Unitalsi and German Dunital, both of them specialized in pilgrimages for disabled people. Almost two thousand disabled pilgrims have already addressed them for assistance in the organization of the journey. For more information, or to require assistance, one can visit the site www.worldyouthday2008.eu. In the meantime, the campaign of Eucharistic adoration is going on in the Australian dioceses. It started last July 20th. The bishop coordinating the WYD, Msgr. Anthony Fisher, invited all parishes, schools, universities and chaplains to organize one adoration hour for every week before the World Youth Day. At present, people from over 150 countries enrolled, including China, Iraq and East Timor. The most numerous groups come from the United States and Europe".
