The last part of the opening address was devoted by mgr. Bagnasco to the ecclesial commitment of the many "men of faith", in the awareness that "history has its theology, and therefore it is always a history of salvation, since it moves towards its goal, that is not the night of nothingness, but the light of God". Then he added that "it is this theological view that, along with our most beloved Priests, we want to grow within our communities". Then, he spoke of the need to defend the fundamental values of life, of the family, of educational freedom, mentioning the "Amnesty International" affair, "i.e. the sensational inclusion, among the recognised human rights, of the choice to abort, maybe even only in the case of rape. These are drifts he added that make us even more vigilant about the dangerous crumbling of even the more apparent human certainties and of the need, therefore, of qualified persons to fight such results".
