SIR EUROPA: EU COUNCIL, THE FIVE PRIORITIES OF THE SLOVENIAN SIX MONTHS’ PRESIDENCY (2)

"Submitting feasible proposals for solving the energy and climate challenges" is the first commitment that the Slovenian presidency of the EU Council has undertaken for these six months. The fourth goal concerns instead the "new prospects of the Western Balkans", the stability of which "is of primary importance for the security and prosperity of the whole EU". One of the most outstanding commitments undertaken by the presidency is a special mention for the future of Kosovo, as connected with Serbia’s getting closer to the Union. The fifth priority stated by Ljubljana for the six months’ presidency concerns "dialogue between different cultures, religious confessions and traditions, as part of the European year of Intercultural Dialogue", which will be opened by an international conference in the capital, Ljubljana, on 7th and 8th January.
