A "Euro-Mediterranean University" based in Slovenia, which, "through common curricula, research projects and exchanges of professors and students, will connect the region’s universities with each other and will contribute to creating a shared place" for advanced learning and research. This idea was submitted by the current presidency of the EU and was developed by Minister Mojca Kucler Dolinar. The Minister in charge of University and Research of Ljubljana’s Government illustrated in Brussels some priorities in her area of responsibility, as from 21st to 29th January all the Slovenian Ministers will have to do in front of the Commissions concerned within the EU Parliament. In this area, Kucler Dolinar explained that the Presidency "will give pride of place to the Erasmus Mundus II Program", regarding students’ and professors’ mobility, and to the International Year of Intercultural Dialogue: it is in this area that the idea of the Euro-Mediterranean University was born. The Slovenian Ministers of Labour, Environment and Regional Development are in Brussels today. More auditions will be held at the EU Commission in the next few days.
