"We must be united says to SIR the metropolitan bishop Gennadios for the world to believe in Jesus Christ, and it can believe in Him only if the Christians are united and brothers in name. It is this brotherhood that we have to find to be sincere and deep. It is a kinship that all the Christians have received at baptism". As to the state of ecumenical dialogue, the archbishop says: "We who are older, if we look at our past, we know we have made lots of progress. So many miracles have been made. For us who have experienced situation of fanaticism and hatred, these are the days of God, because we have rediscovered our brotherhood and have experienced historical events that have given joy and hope for unity and peace in the world. Tomorrow I will pray, as I always do, for the fulfilment of God’s will, that may everyone be one. This is the time of our life. It is up to us to take action".
