ECUMENISM: A BOOK ON THE THIRD ECUMENICAL ASSEMBLY OF SIBIU BY CIPAX

"The third European Ecumenical Assembly, Sibiu 4-9 September 2007 – Chronicle and selected documents by Cipax". This is the title of the new book published in the Cipax’s "Strumenti di pace" collection by the publishing house Icone, Rome. The book covers, at the first section, "Lights and shadows of an Assembly", a long historical introduction to the Assembly of Sibiu. The second section re-publishes the ecumenical charter. This is followed by the speeches (considered by everyone the crucial ones of the Assembly) given by the metropolitan bishop Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad, the second most important man in the Patriarchate of Moscow; by card. Walter Kasper, president of the Papal Council for the Unity of Christians; by the bishop Wolfang Huber of the Evangelical Church of Germany; Benedict XVI’s message; the proposals of the Italians before and during the Assembly of Sibiu; the message of the young and the final message. The book – composed of 94 pages – can be ordered from Cipax, since it won’t be easily found in the bookshops; the association can be contacted at: cipax-roma@libero.it.
