The meeting of the primates of the Orthodox Churches in the world sent by the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew I to celebrate the Pauline Year together is starting today in the Patriarchal Church of St. George in Fanar (Istanbul) and will be attended by the most famous Patriarchs of the Orthodox world: Theodoro of Alexandria (Egypt), Ignatius of Antioch (Damascus and Syria), Theophilos of Jerusalem, the Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos, the Patriarch of Athens and All Greece Ieronymus, Anastasios of Tirana and All Albania, Christophorus of the Czech and Slovak republics and the Metropolitan Stephanos of Tallinn and All Estonia. Amongst the participants there is also Alexius II of Moscow and All Russia despite the disagreements with the ecumenical patriarchate over the Orthodox Church of Estonia (whose "independence" is recognised by Constantinople but not by Moscow). The celebrations for the Pauline Year at Fanar will also be attended by the Churches of Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria Georgia and Poland. ” ” ” ” ” “
