Another one of Saint Paul’s "original definitions", according to the Pope, is that of the Church as "God’s house", that is, a place with "interpersonal relations of a homely type". Convened by God explained the Pope , the Church is God’s assembly in the world. This is the greatness of the Church and our own". "We must be a community, God’s family exhorted the Holy Father at the end of the catechesis , because God is love: through faith, we must accomplish God’s love in this world and thus be the place and sign of His presence, the place of His love in this world and in our history". In addition, in Saint Paul, the word "ecclesìa" has "a multidimensional meaning": "on one side, it means God’s assemblies in some given places", but on the other side it also symbolises "all the Church, as a whole". This means, according to Benedict XVI, that "God’s Church is not merely the sum of different local churches, but, on the contrary, the different local churches constitute God’s Church. All together, they are God’s Church that is accomplished in the local churches". In addition, if we read Saint Paul, we understand that the Church "is not a human assembly, born of shared ideas or interests, but a meeting that has been convened by God. God convened it, and therefore it is one, in all its forms. God’s unity creates the unity of the Church wherever He is".
