"Testimonianza", the filmed version of card. Stanislaw Dziwisz’s story about John Paul II, will be screened in the Vatican (Aula Paolo VI) tomorrow. To illustrate such an important worldwide preview organised by the Holy See with the help of Libreria Editrice Vaticana, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the election of John Paul II to the Papal Throne the Vatican newsroom organised a press conference today, with the screening of a short "documentary" on the birth and production of the film, in which the story told by the Polish Pope’s special secretary taking inspiration from the book, co-authored by Gianfranco Svidercoschi, "Una vita con Karol" is entwined with so far-unseen documentaries and photographs, some of which come from the Vatican Archives and private collections. They are completed by some scenes in which the actors use some of the items Karol Wojtyla used to use every day, such as the travelling altar that he had always taken along since when he was a bishop, the Extreme Unction implements, the cassock, the belt. The story is read by English actor Michael York, the author of the soundtrack that opens and ends the film is the world-known composer Vangelis. The film took nearly one year to shoot, since 2007. The locations: the Vatican, Cracow and Wadovice, plus some shooting in Europe.
