"Simple proposals", so that "the Bible may become a spiritual nourishment for all the members of the Church". This need has been emphasised by mgr. Pierre-Marie Carré, who, in submitting to the synodal fathers the report of the French Minor Circle (C), listed some of them, such as: "A reading of the Scripture that begins in the family and continues with biblical nights in the parish"; "educational tools, online aids (the Internet), for an easier understanding of the most difficult Biblical passages"; "make sure the Bible is translated and spread in as many languages as possible". In addition, people need to "learn to listen to God’s Word in a lively manner. Every believer must be able to turn his heart into a library of the Word". In reporting about his Minor Circle, mgr. Carré proposed that pilgrimages to the Holy Land be promoted. This, he said, is the "fifth Gospel. A pilgrimage in the footsteps of Christ and the Apostles will renew faith". Carré’s Minor Circle also expressed the wish that "women, especially mothers, may receive an appropriate education" to be "the instruments of the Word". According to mgr. Mark Benedict Coleridge, archbishop of Canberra-Goulburn, the speaker of the English Minor Circle (A), "a wide, well-structured pastoral plan should be developed: it should be based on God’s Word and should look at the Word in all its aspects".
