Msgr. Gianfranco Ravasi, during today’s press conference for presenting the "Message by the Synod of the bishops to the People of God", faced the subject of interreligious dialogue. By answering a question about monotheistic religions on a Forum, he said that "it is not real, for the time being". However, he confirmed "the needs of knowledge and debate on the basis of the Holy Scriptures: they are a deep tissue". Later on, by answering an Italian journalist about the opportunity to let the Bible be more known during the religion hour, Msgr. Ravasi said that the question was not analysed during the works. "The Synod he stated is universal. I believe that already happens in Italy, we can say, under many respects. Some religion teachers have published interesting texts on the Bible". Finally, the archbishop made an appeal "to know the Bible to know the identity, above all, of the West".
