"Listening to God’s Word means understanding what is proclaimed, meditating on such announcement, so that it will become part of real life". This was recalled this morning by mgr. Nikola Eteroviæ, secretary general of the Episcopal Synod, as he "briefed" the press in the Vatican Newsroom about the "meaning" and "conduction" of the XII Ordinary General Assembly of the Episcopal Synod, called: "God’s Word in the life and mission of the Church" (Vatican, 5-26 October). "Convened by Benedict XVI said mgr. Eteroviæ the synodal fathers will reflect on God’s Word, on its centrality in the life of the Church and its dynamism which drives Christians to their missions, announcing the Gospel with their words and with the examples of their lives". Mgr. Eteroviæ lingered on some moments that mark the synodal meeting. "The celebration of the Eucharist officiated by the Pope stated the secretary general of the Synod will accompany some of the highlights of the synodal meeting. Benedict XVI will officiate four Eucharistic celebrations".
