On presenting the document, the Prefect of the Congregation, Card. Zenon Grocholewski, stated that "today, those who ask to enter the seminary reflect the discomfort caused by a certain emerging mentality to a more or less remarkable extent. Such mentality is characterized by consumerism, unsteady social and family relationships, moral relativism, wrong visions of sexuality, precarious choices, and the systematic denial of values".
