May the World Day of Migrants and Refugees, to be celebrated on January 18th 2009, "urge everyone to fully live brotherly love, without any sort of distinctions and without discriminations, in the belief that anyone who needs us is our neighbour and we can help them": this is Benedict XVI’s exhortation, contained in his Message for the 95th World Day about "Saint Paul as a migrant, the ‘Apostle of People’", to coincide with the Pauline Year. Quoting episodes and sentences about Saint Paul, the Pope recalls that, even today, "in the age of globalisation, the mission of the Church and of every baptised person" is also "directed to the varied universe of migrants students living away from home, immigrants, refugees, evacuees , including those who are the victims of modern forms of slavery, such as, for instance, the trade of human people". "Even today he stresses , we have to propose the message of salvation with the same attitude as that of the Apostle of People, keeping into account the different social and cultural conditions and the particular difficulties of every person as a consequence of their condition as migrants and wanderers". Benedict XVI hopes every Christian community "may have the same apostolic zeal as Saint Paul’s". (continued)
