SYDNEY WYD: THE BOOK "RECEIVE THE POWER" TO COMMEMORATE THE EVENT THAT "CHANGED THE AUSTRALIAN CHURCH"

"An event that changed the Catholic Church in Australia": with these words, card. George Pell presented in Sydney today the book "Receive the power" about the 23rd World Youth Day that took place in Sydney last July. "No one would have imagined this day would come – said Pell –. The WYD was an event that surprised everyone, not just the devotees but also the leaders of other religions and even the population of Sydney, whom we would like to thank for being so friendly and patient. The book, edited by the archdiocese of Sydney, contains photos of Benedict XVI with the young, his speeches, the speeches of Pell and mgr. Anthony Fisher, the bishop who coordinated the WYD. "These are words and images to relive those unforgettable moments but also to remind us that the journey goes on". The conference was also attended by Alfio Stutto, who played Jesus in the Way of the Cross: "I still have vivid memories of those moments – he said to SIR –. It was an experience that has deeply affected me". The book can be bought online on the website of the Catholic weekly of the archdiocese, the Catholic Weekly, at catholicweekly.com.au.
