"Your presence in the Church and in the world is essential". With these words, the Pope, after yesterday’s Angelus, spoke to the enclosed religious communities, in the run-up to the "Pro Orantibus" Day that will be celebrated next Friday, November 21st. "Let’s thank the Lord for the sisters and brothers who embraced this mission, totally devoting themselves to prayer, and live on what they receive from Providence", said Benedict XVI, who then added: "Let’s pray, in our turn, for them and for the new callings, and let’s strive to support the monasteries in their material needs". The Pope did not forget to send a special greeting to the archdiocese of Milan and to the other communities of the Ambrosian Rite, for which the Time of Advent begins this week.
