(Simona Mengascini SIR’s correspondent in Cyprus) The Cyprus Meeting ended this afternoon in the square in front of the bishops’ palace, in the centre of Nicosia, with an appeal signed by all the participating religious leaders, that "every injustice, every war, every evil be effaced soon” and peoples may be like "brothers" again, "from Cyprus to the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and the whole world”. Before the appeal, a prayer was said at the same time, in different but nearby places, by all the delegates of the different religions: the Christians prayed ecumenically, all together. The appeal repeated that "no hatred, no conflict, no wall can resist prayer, the patient love that becomes dialogue, forgiveness". Because "nothing goes lost through dialogue, and everything can be possible”. In the final ceremony, Andrea Riccardi recalled that "religions are called to make a spirit of peace grow”, which is that “spirit of Assisi that has been blowing since 1986″, and invited everyone to the next meeting that will be held in Cracow and Auschwitz next year.” “
