"Kosovo’s dissatisfaction with the international community is increasingly obvious". With these words, Mauro Ungaro, editor in chief of the weekly magazine of the diocese of Gorizia (Voce Isontina) and an expert in Balkan politics, comments with SIR Kosovo’s rejection of the preliminary agreement in 6 points (police, customs, Court, infrastructure, borders, protection of the Serbian cultural heritage) proposed by the UN Secretary General for the realignment of the UN mission to the country (Unmik). An agreement that would in fact kick-start the European civilian mission "Eulex". The Kosovar Government considers the plan "unacceptable" and thinks problems with "Eulex" have to do with Serbia’s hostility. "After the enthusiasm for the self-proclaimed independence and the illusion of being able to see every political and territorial request granted says Ungaro , Pristina’s government soon had to come to terms with reality: the international diplomacy is more committed to not giving any other cause for conflict with Moscow (Serbia’ ally) than to unconditionally supporting the aspirations of the small country. And so the start of Eulex, that had been planned for December, is postponed again according to authoritative sources, to not before March , apart from the possibility of a merely symbolical presence in those areas of the country where the Albanian presence is overwhelming".
