"The Church should be proud of interreligious dialogue because it is an essential contribution to peace, knowledge and respect among monotheistic religions". During the debate in progress at the 83rd French Social Week (FSW) on the role of religions in today’s society, Jerome Vignon recalls the "school of dialogue"; John Paul II and Benedict XVI have been "two great masters" of that school. "In the interreligious dialogue said the President of the FSW, everybody accepts a kind of self-criticism, and is aware that all monotheistic religions are looking for truth. However, it is not comparison between truths: we Catholics look for truth and meet it by knowing that we do not own it, but truth itself owns us. Therefore, for us, the interreligious dialogue becomes development of Christian faith and attentive listening to the people like us, who are looking for truth". (To be continued)
