The most beautiful poems by John Paul II are becoming songs through the voice of Plàcido Domingo. That is the aim of the album "Infinite Love" presented today in a preview at the Vatican in the presence of the tenor himself, of Mgr Giampaolo Crepaldi, Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace and of Mgr Giuseppe Scotti, Chairman of the Administrative Council of the Vatican Publishing House (LEV). The album will be recorded by the Deutsche Grammophon and includes 12 pieces, some of whom are duets interpreted by artists such as Andrea Bocelli, all inspired to John Paul II’s poems. The selection was made taking into consideration universal themes such as love, children and nature. "This recording said Mr Domingo will speak not only to religious people but to all those who respect John Paul II, a man of great stature who chose to dedicate his life to the service of God and humanity. I am sure he will soon be made a saint. The recording of the CD is part of a bigger project by LEV which includes the future recording of other albums with songs and arrangements of John Paul II’s poems. Presenting the CD, Mgr spoke of "a miracle of beauty," a masterpiece that enters the music world as "a healthy provocation in line with the "duc in altum" (put out into the deep) so dear to John Paul II."
