Brother Alois, prior of the Taizé community, is in Liege with some of his brothers tomorrow afternoon. He was invited by bishop Msgr. Jousten for a time of reflection and sharing, and for one evening of prayer with youth in the style of Taizé, at the cathedral of Saint Paul. Liege will thus become "a stage in the ‘Pilgrimage of confidence on the Earth’ to find out signs of hope, to open up to the beauty of inner life, and to pray together through chants an silence with the young from all the region", it is written in a note by the diocese. To a greater and greater extent, the Taizé community, located in Bourgogne, is becoming the meeting point for thousands of young people from all over Europe. At the end of every year, the Taizé community set up a big meeting with a European city. This year, the meeting is taking place in Brussels from December 29th to January 2nd, 2009. The brothers of the Community are already at work to set up the welcome of about forty thousand young due to arrive, and to sensitize the Christian community and the public opinion on the importance of the event. For this reason, during his visit to Liege, at half past twelve in the afternoon, tomorrow, brother Alois is also meeting the press at the bishop seminary, in the presence of Msgr. Jousten.
