Then, a reference to the ecumenical situation. "We must humbly admit said the Pope that, in this sphere, effective and objective obstacles remain. However, we must not lose heart before such difficulties, but we must continue the process started by prayer and patient love. After all, in Ukraine, for centuries Orthodox and Catholic devotees have tried to entertain a daily, humble and serene dialogue, which embraces so many aspects of life. Failures, which must always be reckoned with, must not dampen our enthusiasm to pursue the objective wanted by the Lord: ‘Let everybody be one’".
