The study weeks for Polish priests set up by the Yad Vashem Institute of Jerusalem ended up a few days ago. 27 priests took part in the seminary, held for the first time last year. Most of them were rectors, prefects and spiritual directors of the seminaries. There were also two representatives of the Auschwitz Birkenau Holocaust Museum. ” “According to the organizer of the seminary from the Polish side, Father Tomasz Adamczyk, prefect of the Seminary of Lublin, "These meetings are useful for both Polish priests and those who work at Yad Vashem. Even though last year there were doubts about the arrival of Polish priests, this year it was exactly the Israeli side to insist on that presence. This means that the Israeli side needs those meetings to discover another face of priesthood". During their stay in Israel, the participants in the seminary had the possibility to take part in study meetings with both scientists and historians such as Professor Israel Gutman from Yad Vashem and Rabbis and Holocaust survivors. The Polish priests, apart from visiting the Holy Places in Jerusalem, took also part in a religious ceremony at the Synagogue.
