"We have shared with the Kosovari population the difficult times, now we share this happy time". With these words, the apostolic administrator of Kosovo, mgr. Dode Gjergji, comments with SIR the independence of the country, which was declared yesterday by the Prime Minister, Thaci. Mgr. Gjiergji does not forget the Serbian minority, and that’s why he asks "the majority to make a great effort with all the population. We must not spare attempts for the sake of the common good, of justice, of peace. Every energy must be spent to guarantee rights and peace to our Serbian fellow citizens too. We believe the only way to go in order to move on and build a future for Kosovo is dialogue". "As a Catholic Church he explains , we have always urged peace, forgiveness, tolerance and reconciliation between peoples. We have to forget the past, which was violent, and move on with the strength of love and forgiveness. This is the message we send to all the people who live in Kosovo. We must not be afraid". "Today, Kosovo concludes the prelate is like a new house, which needs to be filled for the family to feel at ease in it. First and foremost it needs the European Community, attending political meetings, then it needs financial support". (dnr)
