The plenary assembly of COMECE (Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Community) is taking place in Brussels at Martin’s Central Park Hotel from 5 to 7 March. The chosen subject is "Respect for human dignity and creation defence The incarnation of common good by the European policies of the twenty-first century". A press conference is scheduled on Friday, 7 March, during which Franz Fischler, former European Commissioner, will present the workshop organized by COMECE "Climate Change and Christian Lifestyle", within the commitment of the European Christian Churches in relation to environmental defence. Msgr. Noël Treanor, secretary general of COMECE, will also take part in the conference. He’s leaving office for he was appointed bishop of the diocese of Down and Connor, in Northern Ireland.
